Free Cut Scenes Book!

To celebrate the coming release of my novel, VIRTUE, I've released VIRTUE-THE CUT SCENES on Smashwords for FREE!

Cut scenes from the novel VIRTUE, including dancing and backstage scene antics.

Before I went to college, I was a showgirl. I toured—singing and dancing my way around the world in a review called Follies on Broadway. Several years later, I dreamed up the plot for VIRTUE after I took a cruise to Belize...

How cool would it be to write a romantic suspense about a dancer who falls in love with a hot Belizean man and ends up in more trouble than Indiana Jones?

VIRTUE will be released by Turquoise Morning Press December 6th:

Back Cover Copy:

Sheltered, raised in rural Utah, Zoe Marshall has never heard of the Mayan Prophecy of the Golden Goddess—but she’s about to.

At the moment she’s thrilled to have landed her dream job dancing on a cruise ship where she meets Belizean Gabriel AhKin. The sizzling bartender stirs her passion.

When the ship docks in Belize, Zoe disappears—spirited into the bowels of a Mayan cult led by a reclusive fanatic. When the madman sees her, he divines Zoe is the Golden Goddess. She is “the one” to fulfill the prophecy. Now Gabriel’s driving obsession is to rescue the woman who’s captured his heart.

Death of a Manuscript

I have two manuscripts in shallow graves. How about you?

P.S. Interested in reading a funny romance? Rebecca would rather mow through five-hundred poodle cuts than think about dating...

Editing...Gawd!

I've got my rights back and I'm in the process of editing my first novel, BOY MAN CHIEF (Formerly published as KOICTO). Oh. My. God. Have I learned a lot in the past several years!

I thought it would be a pretty easy job to go in and fix a few typos that I knew were in it, but I made so many novice mistakes:

1. That, that, that! I'll bet I've cut 500 that's and I'm not finished yet.
2. As, as, as...not as bad as that, but bad.
3. Not enough action, and not using props...too many head nods.
4. Stating the emotion rather than showing it.
5. Too much word repetition.

Yes, it's bad, bad, bad, but know the good thing? It can be fixed, and I'll have a much better book. I'm hoping to release BOY MAN CHIEF, a Native American historical fantasy by November 1st.
